Four of our ambassadors were given the challenge to go vegan for January. We caught up with Felix Leistikow to find out how he’s getting on!
How are you finding it? Are you finding it hard?
It’s surprisingly good! At the start it was hard to take animal based products off the shopping list, but it’s getting easier day by day.
Have you noticed a difference in your energy levels?
In the beginning I had a huge feeling of hunger even after I ate a huge meal, but after a while it felt really good not being so “full”.
Are there any foods you’re missing?
I really miss cheese. Although there are some dairy free options, they don’t really taste like actual cheese!
Is it making you try different foods?
Yes, since I started I tried several different types of food I’ve never heard of before!
Are you getting enough vitamins and minerals from the foods you’re eating? If not, are you supplementing these?
I don’t really know if I am, so I’ve been taking supplements like Omega 369, Vitamin D3 and B12 and minerals like Zinc and Magnesium from Bulk Powders.
Will you carry it on post jan?
I think I will take a step back to being a vegetarian. Being vegan might have been a too abrupt start to get into the whole world of plant based meals and maybe in the future I’ll go back to vegan.
