    Awesome Review by Lewis
So people are saying it doesn't mix well...just put some bee pollen powder or any other powder and it mixes absolutely fine! This is the best whey I've had! (Posted on 15/12/2017)
Best quality protein Review by mic
This protein is the best quality protein I have tried so far. It's virtually tasteless, mixes well but it makes some foam when it's mixed, so you have to let it sit for half an hour before consuming. Recommended (Posted on 07/12/2017)
    Foaming solution Review by HARI
Great protein powder, but the foaming was an issue, until I added a scoop of organic flaxseed powder. So if you want to stop the foaming just add the flaxseed in your next BULK POWDERS order.Hope this is helpful. (Posted on 01/12/2017)
    Good Product Review by Bobby
I have been using this for a few weeks and I have found this one of the best proteins that I have used because it's pure and no artificial sweeteners or anything else has been added to it. However there have been issues with mixing it as it comes up a lot but I have found a way to deal with this. I just had 50ml of water and then shake the bacon vigorously and then add the rest of the water and stir it. This simply reduces the amount of foam and it should be ok to drink shortly afterwards. Hope this helps. (Posted on 23/10/2017)
Great product. Mixes terribly, but worth the effort Review by Dommeragun
This stuff is lactose free and doesn't contain any soy lecithin. This means it's superb for anyone who is lactose intolerant (which is pretty much everybody to a certain extent; you shouldn't get all bloated after drinking it). However, lecithin is usually added as an anti-foaming agent, so it's absence means that this stuff doesn't mix well and foams up A LOT. Indeed, it will file any air space in the container with foam.

There are two possible solutions to this:
    1. Mix it earlier and wait for the foam to subside. I sometimes mix mine before heading out to the gym and it's fine to drink after I've trained. DON'T mix it in a shaker straight after you've trained if you want to drink it immediately, it'll just annoy you massively.
    2. The foam obviously contains air, so the more full the container, the less space there is for foam. Therefore, you could try mixing it in something like a NutriBullet and filling it right up to the brim so that there is as little air in there as possible. In practice I found this nearly works, but doesn't quite; you're left with about half an inch of foam, but that's okay. If you put the powder in first and add water, it's almost as if it won't become wet. Air will be trapped. Maybe you could use a fork to stir it a bit first, but then you are making lots of work for yourself.

Despite these minor annoyances, this product is still well worth buying. If you're trying to get ready for a competition and you want pure protein, this is it. (Posted on 10/05/2017)
    Alright Review by Pepper
I use 1 scoop with 300ml of soy milk, I find it doesn't mix very well with water or 200ml. It is lumpy but if you use a fork before you shake it just to break up the lumps its fine. I don't mind that its unflavoured because I can use it to bake with, but to drink I do add maple flavour drops otherwise it doesn't taste that great. I have found this to be one of the only lactose free whey proteins on the market and I would rather use this over soy protein. My only other issue with this is that it goes so foamy when you mix it so you cant drink it as soon as you make it, I have worked round this though by either making it in the morning and leaving it in the fridge all day or just making it quickly before going gym. (Posted on 12/03/2017)
    5 star! Review by Eva
I love this protein, it literally has no taste so it will just taste of whatever you mix it with, usually I mix it with almond or coconut milk and some blueberries and bananas and it tastes great, blends really well. I don't get the complaints about it foaming a lot, it does rise a bit when you blend it, but nothing major, perfectly fine, I blend it with an electric blender, so maybe it's because of that. Whey Isolate 97 Review by Bulk Powder Shopper
I became lactose sensitive one day out of the blue some years ago, and have been using vegan proteins since then. I am very happy to let you know that Pure Whey Isolate 97 has not given me any digestion problems, and tastes so much better than veggie proteins. Thank you! (Posted on 11/01/2017)
Great product once you get used to it! Review by Racquel
I absolutely love this product! People are saying it tastes horrible but personally there is pretty much no taste to it which suits me fine!

My main issue was the foam. At first I foolishly shook it and there was about three inches of foam. However if you pour the water into the container first then put the protein powder on top then use a fork and mix it for about 3 mins its perfect! There is still a tiny bit of foam however, so its best to prepare the protein shake before your workout!

Amazing value for amazing product!!!! (Posted on 13/12/2016)
Good but hard to mix Review by MATT
It's a good product, and the results are fantastic. But:

    A) It is unflavoured so tastes absolutely dreadful.

    B) It froths up hard when you first mix it. Off course, the solution is to either mix it with something else, other than water, or to mix over night so that it settles by the morning (or whatever your schedule is). I am fairly easy when it comes to these sorts of things but really just found this to be a hassle more than anything.

The results are not worth the effort. (Posted on 13/11/2016)
Best out there Review by Hulk Hogan
Its comforting to know exactly what you're putting into your body. Pure protein with no cr*p. Cant complain about that. Month in and i'm seeing substantial gains already. Thanks BP (Posted on 18/10/2016)
    Excellent product! Review by Paleo_Pete
Used up the last of my old protein powder last night so today was the first day using Bulk Powders Pure Whey Isolate™ 97.
First impressions are that it's a good product! I wasn't completely sold on the idea of protein shakes but when I started using MyFittnessPal a few months ago it flagged up that I wasn't getting anywhere near enough protein(despite thinking I was fine). So, completely clueless I started using Maxinutrition Promax, then used Maxinutrition Cyclone (it contains added creatine) Both products were good but can be expensive if you don't get a discount code. When my last lot of Cyclone ran out I noticed that B&M (cheap shop) had SCI MX ULTRA WHEY™ PROTEIN at £14.99 for 908g so I gave that a try (AFAIK they still sell this). Seemed like a decent product.
This time armed with Thomas Irving's (my nutritionist) eBook on Protein I chose the Bulk Powders Pure Whey Isolate™ 97 based on the fact it's just over 97% pure protein and contains no lactose. The first thing I noticed was that where as the other products I'd used required two scoops per serving this one only requires one, so in theory should last twice as long? The '97' is only available unflavoured but I mixed mine this morning with 'mixed berry' creatine and it was quite palatable. One thing I did notice was that it froths up a lot when mixed, this wasn't an issue as I mixed it before I left and it had settled down post workout.
Price wise it's pretty good in my opinion, I paid £55.99 for 2.5 kilos but they were offering 30% discount at the time, so I think it worked out around £16. per kilo and as I say the dosage is half what I was using for a similar protein hit.
Another bonus is that it has quite a lot less calories than other powders I've used.
    Highly recommended. (Posted on 16/09/2016)
    THE BEST Review by Pri
I was looking for a good quality protein shakes to aid my fitness routines after gym sessions.

I'm so glad I found this product, it's excellent. I prefer to mix it with skimmed milk instead of water. It's so easy to mix - within seconds and the consistency is perfect unlike other protein powders which leave behind lumps.

I highly recomment the Berries and Cream flavour as this is undoubtedly the best I have tried; tastes like ice cream! I've tried a lot of flavours such as banana fudge, mint chocolate, toffee popcorn and my least favourite - white chocolate. However, the Berries and Cream flavour exceeds all, it's amazing. (Posted on 19/06/2016)
    Great Review by Jack
yes leaves a lot of frof, but people with a brain will mix it before you go to your workout so once your finished its all settled. I also bought liquiflav and I love the taste. no brainer if on low carb diet. (Posted on 13/05/2016)
Possibly my favorite protein Review by Ronny
Most of the reviews I have read said it tastes horrible, but really when it's mixed with milk, it literally just tastes of creamy milk and because the taste of milk doesn't get boring to me, I don't dread drinking it. When I get other flavours, I feel that my taste buds get used to the taste and it becomes disgusting, I never get that with this product.

But I have given it a 4* because of the how difficult it is to mix. It it hard and goes frothy, but other than that I have no complaints. (Posted on 19/01/2016)
The best whey protein Review by hasa77
This whey protein is easily the best money can buy. I believe one of the best selling whey protein is ON (Optimum Nutrition) gold standard 100% whey however both price wise and nutritionally, this stuff smashes it out of the park! ON whey cost around the £47 mark for (£0.46 per serving) whereas whey 97 (£0.44 per serving) costs £56 for 2.5kg. ON whey is 24g of protein per 29.4g serving whereas whey 97 has 29.3g of protein per 30g serving, so gram for gram, whey 97 has more protein. ON's best protein whey offering is Platinum Hydrowhey (30g protein per 39g), however your expected to pay £55 for 1.5kg as opposed to £56 for 2.5kg of whey 97.
I think you can see the clear winner here...!

I rated this product 4 instead of five due to two reasons:
    - Mixability. It is hard to mix. I can mix the micellar casein with a spoon in my shaker cup however I have to use the mesh piece and the lid to get it to mix, and even then it requires a good hard shake to get it to mix. Next issue, once you have finally got it to mix, it is frothed up. After you drank all of it and leave the shaker cup, the froth will eventually turn into liquid and you will miss out on the vital extra protein
    - Taste. To keep this product so pure and have as much protein as possible per serving, this offering only comes in unflavoured so that the protein is not diluted, however, it tastes like warm raw eggs. I dont drink protein for the taste but the unflavoured is so nasty and it requires so much of something else to cover up the taste. The taste may be the deciding factor for me to switch to the whey 90 as it is flavoured and so will taste better (still considering it as the extra protein is benefical!).

Overall if you can ignore the flavour, I would highly recommend it as it is very pure and two servings can easily give you a good source of protein if a meal is not possible.
Get this product without a doubt, just add something to flavour it if possible and boom nearly 30g of protein in one serving! (Posted on 18/01/2016)
Ticks the box Review by BestyMike
This is a great product. I bought it because I dont want artificial flavours and want a product with as little in it as possible so I can add in the rest and know what is in there.

Results wise, I think it does the job, I haven't noticed a downside certainly.

Tastewise it's not great, but that's not what I bought it for. It is almost tasteless but just mixed with milk, (or water) 1 it is a nightmare to dissolve and 2 it does taste pretty rank.

My usual recipe is Greek Yoghurt, Chia seeds, Almond butter, natural unsweetened cinnamon and sometimes granola. This way you have no dissolve problems and it doesnt affect the flavour in anyway. Recommend it and re-ordering. (Posted on 17/01/2016)
    Great Product Review by popeyesfx
I was looking for a product to go with a low carb diet, and after reading the reviews decided to go with this. I found the product to be top quality, easy to use and easy to mix. I don't have the froth problems some reviews have mentioned. I add fresh raspberries to alpro soya milk and mix together then sieve and add the whey, mix and good i am to go. (Posted on 24/11/2015)
    Great Review by Olly
I've never been able to tolerate dairy, right since birth. But after working with a naturopath he advised me to look into getting pure whey isolate and see if I could tolerate that. The one he recommend was super expensive. So I did a bit of shopping around and came across Bulk Powders and I am so glad I did. I tolerate this stuff with no issues and the price is just great! It's not always that easy to mix, but if I can consume it without problems than it is worth the stickiness and clotting and having to give it a real good mix to try and prevent this. Highly recommended. (Posted on 10/11/2015)
    AMAZING! Review by Johnson
Absolutely love this. Does the job and tastes great! (Posted on 03/11/2015)
Best thing ever! Review by NicolaK
I bought this to try as most whey products leave me feeling bloated and very gassy, I also think to some extent they caused stomach pain. So after reading reviews I thought I would try this. I have to say all the above has gone and I actually feel lighter if that makes sense?

I'm following a low carb diet and also got this product as there are zero carbs and zero sugar. Yes it does froth up with water when using a hand blender but as I add banana's to mine for added flavour and sometimes raw cocoa powder, I found if you put your water in first followed by the whey powder and then the banana's it doesn't froth as much. Also if you add the raw cocoa powder that somehow kills the froth too.

So a week in using this for breakfast and occasionally dinner too, I have lost weight and more weight since I changed over products. I'm one happy bunny!! (Posted on 13/09/2015)
Does not mix well! Review by Dan Cow
This powder does not mix well with water at all.

I added 200ml of water, as the packaging suggested, and the whole thing foamed up to about double its original volume. While I was waiting for the mixture to settle I noticed the foam separating from the water completely until I was left with a pint glass half full of thick foam with 200ml of water underneath it.

On the plus side this had even less flavour than other 'unflavoured' whey proteins I've tried (which tend to taste quite milky). This one really does have hardly any flavour at all which would make it good as an ingredient if you are trying to up the protein content in other foods.

Seeing as it doesn't mix well with water, using it as an ingredient might be the best solution.

Not very happy with this product I'm afraid. (Posted on 05/09/2015)
The best protein out there! Review by Russ
This stuff is fantastic! No nonsense flavourings or fillers and not even any 'Soy leichtin', just pure, unrivaled protein. I've noticed a huge difference in recovery and bounce back from harder sessions (I'm an endurance athlete) so much quicker. I've notice a big difference in appetite as well and no longer crave sugar as much and feel fuller so much longer.

Due to the lack of emulsifiers it does foam up a bit but I just put a scoop in my blender with fruit juice and a teaspoon of complete greens in whizz it all up and it goes down a treat.

Excellent product and service! (Posted on 14/08/2015)
    Protein mixer Review by Lee____o
Very adaptable high quality protein that can be mixed with pretty much anything . Personally I mix it with coco powder and banana toffee peanut butter and it tastes amazing. Top notch five stars (Posted on 10/08/2015)
Mixability is not that great but who cares?! this product is just awesome. RELIABLE pure protein powder without having to worry about amino spiking or anything else... I highly recommend it. (Posted on 06/03/2015)
The No.1 Whey for me. Review by Lino
I think i will never use another protein powder. Yes it foams a lot, dont use a blender. And yes it mixes bad, it takes its time.

I found a way to work around that, i put one scoop of powder with the same amount of cocoa powder (nesquik or what ever you want to use) in a mug then i put in warm water and slowly stir it with a spoon, after that i let it rest for about 10 min while stirring it sometimes. after the 10 min it's all smoothly mixed and i drink it like hot chocolate (of corese its not hot anymore).

That's it, i found a way to avoid mixing and foaming problems and have nearly pure protein, i never tolerated any other product like that, no bloating no farting, no bad digestion.

Like i said No.1 Protein source for me.

Ty bulkpowders for this product. (and as ever shipping to Austria went perfect). (Posted on 19/12/2014)
Lactose intolerant? Buy it!! Review by Jonny
If your lactose intolerant like me and who can't digest whey concentrate then this definitely is the right product.

It does taste horrible to start with but u get used to it but to be fair you're not drinking it because it tastes good so taste is irrelevant all I do is get the hand blender out add one ripe banana, scoop or 2 protein and right amount of water (200ml for 1 scoop 400ml for 2) tastes awesome and your combining a complex carb to feed your body while the protein gets to work. (Posted on 28/11/2014)
Only no soya protein on UK market! But doesn't mix well with much Review by Laura
I bought this as I'm anaphalix to soya and this is the only protein powder that doesn't contain it on the UK market.

I Love the fact it's high in protein and no carbs as I can source my carbs from real food sources whilst increasing my protein without continuously eating tuna and chicken haha!

My main complaint would be it categorically does not nix with water.

However mixed with natural yogurt it fluffs up add some stevia and it's lush also add instant oats but the yogurt makes it slow release which isn't good after a workout.....water I just get lumps..... (Posted on 27/11/2014)
    Great! Review by Rfc54
Great Product, Tastes good with Almond Milk also good to find a whey protein without Soy, Good stuff. (Posted on 17/10/2014)
Whey to Go for great protein Review by Dave
Just as others have found it does froth up a lot. However it doesn't form any lumps and I generally mix at least 10mins before I intend on drinking it so as to be able to reduce the granular taste.texture it has when I drink it straight away. I do find it has a tangy taste when mixed just with water, but I've gotten used to it. When mixed with milk it's still tangy.

Overall, I've been using it daily for about a week. So I've yet to know for sure how much of a difference it makes to my results. (Posted on 13/10/2014)
    Foaming Review by Jorden
I've only been using the product for a few days and I agree with the people before me, it does foam a lot and it makes it difficult to drink, it also being unflavoured does mean that it doesn't taste the best. I've gotten round this by adding a little bit of sugar and i'm considering cocoa powder. It being unflavoured isn't a problem really however the foaming issue is.

Any suggestions on how to solve it would be great. (Posted on 04/08/2014)
Best whey isolate available! Review by geraint
I've been mixing this with the BP micellar casein to get a quick and sustained hit of aminos before and after training. Also 5g glutamine, 2.5g creatine monohydrate (creapure), 5g IBCAA & 3g Leucine pre/post. I also add some fast carbs post workout. No bloating or stomach cramps using this blend. Unlike other big brand protein blends I've experienced!!!!

97% pure whey isolate is amazing. The product tastes good & mixes well. Can't recomend this enough on its own or as part of a blend like myself!!!!!! (Posted on 28/07/2014)
    Brilliant Review by AC-Exeter
Normal WP messes me up because of the lactose. However this product absolutely fine.

I've only had it two days but I feel way less bloated. It tastes of absolutely nothing, so I suppose it can be mixed with anything. With water, it just tastes like water, with a bit of foam to it.

The powder is very fine and hence a bit messy by comparison, but that's only a very minor negative point.

An added benefit is that it doesn't make your shaker stink if you've not cleaned it quickly enough afterwards.

Definitely worth the extra money over normal WP! (Posted on 11/06/2014)
    Brillaint stuff Review by Harmeet
This stuff is the best whey you can purchase, however a tad expensive.

it gets very messy quickly. It's very thin powder and it can be annoying cleaning the kitchen top every time I get a scoop out.

    9/10! (Posted on 31/03/2014)
    Good Stuff Review by Nino
This stuff is really good if you have a lactose problem.

Foaming can be a problem, though adding something heavier to the mix like powdered oats seems to sort that out.

Only negative I have is that due to it being so fine it gets stuck in the seal on the bag, so is hard to re-seal. I've now had to order a container for it so I can seal it properly.

Excellent unflavoured product Review by Amaury
I mix this with micellar casein (both unflavoured) in rice milk and dextrose as part of my post workout nutrition. Apart from the very few, minuscule lumps it's just like drinking a light, sweet, milk flavoured shake without the bloating. (Posted on 23/02/2014)
Great protein, just make in advance Review by Matt
Yes, it doesn't mix that well but give it a good shake in a proper shaker and it's fine. Leave it a while to settle down (i.e. during your workout) and it's good to go when you need it.

Taste is absolutely fine - doesn't taste saccharine from any flavourings, doesn't have loads of carbs and lactose so you can focus on getting the most protein possible. Having 2 scoops gives you around 58g of protein (compared to 48g from the cheaper stuff, plus all the other garbage it has), easier than chowing down on a couple of ostrich steaks at the gym! (Posted on 25/09/2013)
Excellent Product, Highly Recommended Review by Stuart
Being unflavoured, this protein can be used in a variety of applications, I recently made some protein pancakes and they were delicious. It mixes perfect with milk and water (in water, it foams up but does die down eventually). I normally put some flavour drops in and it tastes like any other protein shake but without the carbs, lactose etc!

It also is easy on the stomach, most protein shakes would give me bloating and cramps but due to the low lactose level and no artificial crap, I never have any issues with it.

It is well priced, considering it is has such a high level of protein per scoop. 5 Star! (Posted on 16/07/2013)
    Foaming Review by Lee
I found the only way to stop it foaming is to add it to a thicker product like rice pudding and eating it. Use a 1/4 of a can of rice pudding with 25g of the protein. When you first start to mix it, it will seem to get really thick but then once it is all mixed the consistency goes back to rice pudding. Oats, yogurt or anything like that will do just as fine and is the only way to prevent foaming. (Posted on 14/07/2013)
    Sticky mess Review by Ross
I bought this is as it was the only isolate available at the time of order- I suffer from being lactose sensitive and IBS.
I have found that it helps with recovery and I'm seeing some improvements, I'm pretty new to the gym game so dont know how much is natural improvements or not. I'm also seeing some weight loss with this but again I'm not sure how much is due to increase cardio when working out.

My main "complaint" is the packaging. The bag doesn't seal itself, I've had it leak out and waste a few servings and everytime I open it I'm greeted by a cloud of powder that leaves me and the surface sticky. If you have tubs from other companies I'd recommend decanting into there. (Posted on 04/07/2013)
    Foaming Review by Louis
This product is very good as the nutritional value is outstanding. I have not seen a better product when it comes to the protein value. However! When mixing the product foams up. If I pour in 200ml of water and mix the 1 scoop of product it will foam all the way to the top of the mixer. Even when using a blender. Does anyone have any advice on how to de-foam this product. As even when waiting half hour for the product to de-foam, it does not?? (Posted on 27/05/2013)
Great zero lactose product. Review by Adam D
I've tried many MANY whey proteins over the years as I am lactose intolerant without much luck. However this product is absolutely great. I've been able to have as much as I want daily (often 4 or more) without any fear of stomach issues.

The taste is more than palatable but it mixes with literally anything if you need more taste, so far I've had with smoothies, nesquik and even squash to make it better tasting.

Only minor issue is mixability. It takes about 5 mins of hand stirring to get it into a drinkable state but no issues when using a blender. Although as mentioned before my main concern was lactose.

4.5/5 for this product. will buy again. And thanks for the pre-workout taster; will be after that soon also!

    At last Review by Ash
At last a protein made from whey that i can drink, tried loads of isolates and all gave me the s***s due to lactose, but this no problem even on a empty stomach, well worth the money, (Posted on 14/03/2013)
Good quality!! (unflavoured) Review by Youthanasia
Foams up like hell and resembles dish water once mixed... but still goes down pretty well. *Tip*, mix with strawberry flavoured water and it tastes pretty good. You can usually get four 500ml bottles for a quid, so I fill my boot for the gym and mixing on the go. I do three days a week in the gym and after week two of this stuff I saw geniune muscle gains. And I'm not particularly fit either. (Posted on 03/03/2013)

tastes okay if you mix in some flavouring, however takes like forever for the foam to settle.. (Posted on 24/02/2013)

    good Review by Mick Mulcahy
A great product at a great price. It does foam up a lot and takes a while to settle. But this gives you time to shower and sort your gym gear and other supps out as it settles. (Posted on 31/07/2012)
Good stuff but beware.. Review by Daniel Slade
Great quality protein but if your used to your nice thick shakes, it is very watery and it takes forever for it to 'foam down' best off to make it before the gym, should settle nicely by the end of a session (Posted on 30/06/2012)

Good but beware Review by Anonymous
A great quality product but beware if you are used to other protein products, as this one doesn't mix as easily and results in a cloudy watery liquid rather than a smooth shake style protein shake. Am sure that the benefits are there but think I will go back to lower % next time. Hope this helps other novices out there! (Posted on 11/04/2012)

good product 29.1g pure protein per a 30g serving is just amazing
mixability and texture is just as expected for a non instantanised product and no anti-foaming agent.
just stuck it in the blender with some water and icecubes for a min and it tasted good no sweetners nasty after taste or anything like that.
Great product Thanks BP (Posted on 11/04/2012)
