What is N-Acetyl L-Cysteine?
Supplementing with regular L-Cysteine is useless; it is used far too rapidly by the body to ellicit any positive benefits. In contrast, N-Acetyl L-Cysteine is a much more stable form of L-Cysteine and can be used to great effect. It is a powerful antioxidant but has a variety of other functions ranging from liver support to anti-aging.
Where to find N-Acetyl L-Cysteine
L-Cysteine is produced naturally in the body. It is also found in foods such as chicken, oats, egg yolks, broccoli, onion, sprouts, garlic and red peppers. Remember L-Cysteine is extremely unstable and is therefore practically worthless. N-Acetyl L-Cysteine can only be obtained through supplementation.
