    Glucomannan (Konjac) is a form of water soluble fibre, which has been shown in research to contribute to weight loss in the context of an energy restricted diet, at a dose of 3g per day. Glucomannan is sourced from the rhizomes of the Amorphophalli Konjac plant, generally found in South-East Asia.

    Glucomannan (Konjac) increases the feeling of fullness (satiety). Glucomannan (Konjac) Powder has also been shown to contribute to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels, at a dose of 4g per day.

    The mixing of Konjac flour can go horribly wrong if too much is dumped into the blender or soup!!! Only add a tiny bit by bit gradually. It really does magically thicken up shockingly quickly when you least expect it lol!
    Good stuff though! Great for vegan jelly, zero carbs jelly, bulking fibre. As long as your water constant is sorted. NEVER ever use this powder dry!! (Posted on 31/12/2015)

    As I haven't had it before this may just be the general, average texture of this product but it is inconsistantly gritty like there are tiny weeny bits of grit in it :( and I'm not sure if that's normal. It would be expected as it's a root but it's not pleasant so I doubt it's just what the powder feels like. I'm guna stick with it (and hope it's not grit I suppose it could be minute parts of the roots skin?) and add it to different things in different amounts and see if there's any change. All in all so far it seems to help fill you up so you eat less of other stuff and doesn't have an unpleasant taste so it's not all bad :) . (Posted on 19/12/2015)

    Recently had a bad experience with this product. It's great for keeping you full, but as soon as you mess up the ratios it's really dangerous.

    Accidentally putting in 2 scoops into a shake has led to my throat becoming blocked by this incredibly fibrous powder and it's a horrible sensation that is leading to a doctor's appointment today in an attempt to remove this 'glue' from my throat!

    Still given 4 stars as it does what it says it does, keeps you full and will 100% aid in cutting. (Posted on 10/08/2015)

    Folks, if you're new to the wonders of glucomannan, here's a tip to avoid lumps: add a scoop or two to a small amount of cold water while stirring and then add it to hot food (thickens broths and sauces), yogurts (thickens and increases volume for no calories), porridge (same deal), and tons of other tasty treats. Wait for 10 - 15 minutes with cold food and it will thicken evenly. I water down my greek yogurt a lot and add this stuff and it thickens right back up so I get to eat way more - I am defying physics and loving it! (Posted on 23/04/2015)

    I've used this product to thicken all sorts of things and it works really well, provided you stir or whisk it thoroughly to avoid lumps. It's tasteless and has a good consistency. You only need a small amount (the scoop provided is tiny) so the bag lasts a long time. (Posted on 12/03/2015)

    I put the stated dose into a pint of water and it turned to lumpy wallpaper paste.

    Luckily I had a blender which smoothed it out. Taste with just water is a bit odd so add half a lemon/lime juice or sugar free cordial and some ice cubes.

    I've only used it twice so far, but the results were good. Mix it together with whey protein, blend in water, leave it to set and turn solid and you get a very low carb protein pudding. Much better than xanthan. Solid but not slimey.

    Absolutely fantastic. I have been using Xanthan Gum which is very good at thickening and is more instant than the Konjac but it does have that jelly like texture. Konjac on the other hand does need to be left to set but then it sets solid (unlike the Xanthan gum) and it turns a protein shake or Juice plus etc into the most yummy pud which fills me up more than drinking a shake. It is a lot more expensive but if you add 75% Konjac and 25% Xanthan Gum then it keeps the costs down. Really good stuff, and no taste and hardly any calories.     Was a little dubious about this stuff as almost seemed to good to be true. If you're the same then all I can say is "give it a go". It removes my hunger pains and stops me from snacking on things that I shouldn't when at work. This alone is helping me lose weight. Using with Complete Thermogenic and the weight is dropping off.     Well recommended to anyone, like me, who has a very sweet tooth and un-does all their good work in the gym by indulging!

    This comes as a slightly granulated white powder and has a very subtle odour to it - think krill oil capsules mixed with....sherbet!! I mix slightly less than 1/4 teaspoon with 200ml water and gulp it down about half an hour before meals. It has a slight chemically aftertaste (when taken like this), not entirely pleasant but certainly nothing to make you gag. When mixed with water, the mixture become thickened, but nowhere near gunge-y or slimy like other products.

    I tried mixing it with my protein shake but the resultant texture was not to my liking. however, the results of taking this were! It really does make you feel 'satisfied' and inclined to eat less.....without making you lose your appetite (like hoodia does, to me anyway) or making you bloated/experiencing 'digestive issues'.

    A good way to regulate your calorie intake and stop you snacking at work!! (Posted on 12/08/2013)

    Brilliant ingrediant for making low carb protein puddings and it has all the diet benefits of fibre as well! This is what they make zero-calorie noodles out of.

    I mixed a couple of grams in with my protein, blended and it made a protein pudding with the same consistency of those chocolate/vanilla puddings ou can buy in the chilled isle of the supermarket. It does not have the slimy texture that Xanthan gum can have.
