BCAA are synonymous with their muscle building and muscle loss prevention benefits. They are particularly useful when supplemented with pre, during and post-workout, but are also ideal for using between meals to stave off catabolism and promote anabolism. BCAA Powder in particular is extremely popular due to its versatility and cost-effectiveness.
Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAA) Information
BP Basics Branched Chain Amino Acids comprise of leucine, isoleucine and valine in a 2:1:1 ratio. These three amino acids comprise 1/3 of the protein within our muscles, so are clearly important for building muscle and preventing muscle loss. Branched Chain Amino Acids are considered essential in that they are not produced by the body and so must be obtained through our diet. If they are not present in our diet, we would be unable to survive.
Where to find Branched Chain Amino Acids: The foods richest in Branched Chain Amino Acids are red meat and dairy products. They are however found in every protein-containing food. BP Basics Whey Protein Concentrate 80% is also especially rich in Branched Chain Amino Acids.
Branched Chain Amino Acids can also be referred to as BCAAs, Leucine + Isoleucine + Valine.
Directions
Serving Size
We would recommend taking 5.0g of BP Basics Branched Chain Amino Acids per serving. Take 1-3 servings daily depending on your requirements. The concept of ‘mega-dosing’ BCAAs is also very popular with people who are on calorie restricted diets; this involves taking approximately 5-6 servings per day at spaced out intervals, with the idea being to lose body fat but retain as much muscle as possible.
A BulkPowders.co.uk 5ml measure (level scoop) provides approximately 2.6g of BCAAs. We therefore suggest taking 2 scoops per serving.
Timing
Branched Chain Amino Acids are best taken on an empty stomach to prevent competition for absorption by other amino acids. The best times to take BCAAs are 10-20 minutes before exercise, during exercise and immediately after exercise. They can of course be taken at other stages of the day, perhaps during periods where you will not be eating for a while.
Synergists
During exercise it is common to consume Branched Chain Amino Acids combined with a fast-release carbohydrate such as Dextrose or Maltodextrin. This is designed to prevent fatigue and thus improve athletic performance. BCAAs also stack well with BP Basics L-Glutamine; together they form an unbeatable muscle-preserving duo.
Safety
Branched Chain Amino Acids have been well-researched and are a safe supplement. We already consume them daily in our natural diet..
Toxicity
There is no known toxicity of Branched Chain Amino Acids.
Bans/Restrictions for Use
As far as we are aware there are no known bans or restrictions in regard to supplementing with Branched Chain Amino Acids.
Our powders aren't supplied with a scoop. Add this 5ml Measure to your order for just £0.30!
This product is 100% pure BCAA powder, nothing has been added nor taken away.
you can mix them easily if you want
bcaa supplementation needs high doses (=expensive) to get appreciable results. this is why i think that these cheap bcaa are great.
\
yes, the taste is awful, but that's right how aa are supposed to taste
\
I don't see any particular problems about mixability. Obviously, if you want to mix them in an half glass of water using a teaspoon, well, forget it
\
the best way is to shake them in a bottle or shaker. If you do this way, they WILL mix, guaranteed.
\
\
my personal approach to the taste is to add a tab of effervescent generic supplement, like the cheap, orange flavoured vitamins-calcium-magnesium tabs that you can find in any supermarket.

Rank, but does what it says on the tin
This stuff tastes vile and is impossible to mix in a glass, but both can be overcome by adding water and some Robinsons No Added Sugar (virtually no calories) in a 500ml plastic container and shaking vigorously for 30 secs. Works well with Dextrose, Beta Alanine & Creatine both pre & post-workout. Noticeable gains in muscle mass, reduced fatigue and faster recovery.

Mixed bag
I've had my share of supplements, but this in my opinion is worse than the CEE. The taste is really foul and stays in your mouth if you don't wash it away with water. I'd suggest buying the tablets.
\
\
I can definately say this stuff works. Before taking the supplement I had severe muscle ache after workouts that would last 3-4 days on occasion. My training hasn't been shorter or less intense, but the ache lasts only about 36-48 hours max which is great.
